almost a year and a half!

I can't believe how fast the time has gone by - Cole will be 18 months on March 18th!  He is getting to be such a big boy!  He can say lots of words, he knows most of his body parts and can make several animal noises too!  He can run, climb and ride on toys and he eats really well with a fork or a spoon!  It is amazing to me how much kids really grow in their first few years!  He is also a very loving boy, he loves to give hugs and kisses all the time - he can blow kisses too!  Happy almost year and a half to my sweet boy!

Kitchen fun

Whenever we visit friend's homes, Cole always gravitates towards their play kitchens, so I decided to get him one.  I thought it may help me make dinner a little easier too.  Cole was so excited!  Grammie came over to help me put it together, and boy did I need it!  I was out of breath putting that thing together - thank goodness for a power drill!  They don't make it easy that's for sure!  Cole plays with it constantly!  Rob okayed the purchase because it has a grill attached!  It makes frying noises too!  I'd say this was one of the best toy purchases so far!  Silly boy, he loves to make cheesy faces at the camera!

Florida

The second week in February was our family trip to Florida- Palm Beach and then Orlando.  We had a great time!  Rob showed me where some of his clients live, we played on the beach went to the zoo (Cole LOVED it) and took a walk through Palm Beach's shopping district - so many high end stores - ohh Jimmy Choo, I wish I could afford you!
Then we went to Orlando and stayed with Nana and Papa at their timeshare.  We DID Disney for 2 days straight, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Epcot!  Cole was such a trooper, he loved all the scenery and the rides.  He was fast asleep during the Illuminations night show though, all those fireworks and he was out!  The last day we went to Downtown disney and then relaxed in the pool.  It was a wonderful time, the warm weather really perks you up.  Until you fly back in to upstate NY!

Rob's new ride

Rob needed a new ride too, so he went out and bought this beauty - a 2008 Toyota Tundra!  The backseat is just like sitting in a car, it is huge!  I do have a little trouble getting into it though, it is high up!  I think running boards will be next on the list.  Just imagine Rob, wearing his suit coat, driving this to work!  He loves it!

the new ride

Rob and I decided that Cole needed yet another ride on toy to add to his collection :), so we bought him a battery powered 4 wheeler.  He LOVES it.  We laugh hysterically when he rides it because he can't steer yet, so he just pushes the button and motors into whatever is in the way.  Then he pretends he is going to do a wheelie, he pulls on the handlebars like he thinks it may jump over the obstacle.  Where do boys learn this?  A lot of the snow had melted so Rob took him outside on it this weekend - Cole was in his glory, he rode it to Grammie's house and back!  Of course daddy put him in the tractor sweatshirt - thanks Aunt Abby!

It's a GIRL!

We had our ultrasound yesterday and our new little one cooperated very well!  The doctor said that it was very obviously a girl!  Yeah!!!  As you can see from our pic, Rob is just as excited as I am!  He was on the phone right away and the ladies in the office commented on his huge smile!  Either way would have been wonderful, but we really are so blessed!  Cole will be a big brother!  All the body structures were normal and she was moving around a lot too!  We have already bought a pink newborn outfit and hat!  This may not be good for my wallet - I LOVE little girl clothes and shoes - uh oh! :)  She will be called Allison (Allie for short) - middle name to be disclosed at a later date :)

The dipper

If you know and love a Newson, you know that they LOVE to dip their food!  Sandwiches in milk, pizza in dressing, cookies, crackers - whatever!  I am not much of a dipper - or at least I wasn't until several years into our marriage!  Cole has now shown that he has this dominant Newson trait as well - he loves to dip his raisin toast into his yogurt in the morning! Yummy!  It just makes me laugh - like father, like son!
